Each year, Walmart U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs and Distribution Centers award local cash grants ranging from $250 to $5000.

The Community Foundation awards quarterly grants to qualifying nonprofit organizations on a competitive basis. These grants can be used for any kind of charitable project benefiting the Outer Banks, including animal welfare, arts and culture, children/youth, disaster relief/mitigation, education, the environment, health, historic preservation, and other human services, unless otherwise specified.

Amount: $30,000 - $350,000

This annual grant celebrates and supports nonprofit organizations making an impact in their local communities. True Inspiration Awards grants range from $30,000 to $350,000, with $6 million awarded in 2025 to organizations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, Canada and the United Kingdom.
